Ensuring food safety, not regulating festivals: Maha FDA chief on new directive
Maharashtra FDA chief Tukaram Mundhe said the department's new year-round festival food-safety directive aims to prevent food adulteration. "We're not regulating festivals; we're ensuring that food served at festivals is safe and compliant with a law that has existed since 2011," he said. The FDA has introduced a year-round "Festival Enforcement Calendar" to monitor food safety during festivals.
